WHAT'S IN A NAME?
We say EVERYTHING! It is Everything we stand for.
The word UCHISOTO is derived from two different words UCHI & SOTO which literally means Inside & Outside in Japanese culture.
We dared to change the narrative and present our own interpretation.
UCHISOTO means Blurring the lines between Inside & Outside of Oneself.
UCHI/ Inside:
For Us every individual in its form is a collection of stories gathered through times.These stories are the Intangibles ( Feelings, Emotions, Memories, Reactions ) which make them Unique.
SOTO/ Outside:
It is the outside environment or the space for the inhabitant.
UCHISOTO is imagined as a single non-hyphenated word which is a beautiful amalgamation of these two opposite yet interdependent words UCHI & SOTO ,blurring the line between the two thus emphasising on our core belief that Outside is a true reflection of One's Inside.

With an innate inclination towards the creative side our founder loves to give creative spin even to the most ordinary things.
She is known for her ability to infuse warmth ,interest & character to any space through her impeccable knowledge in silhouette, colours,patterns ,textures & juxtapositioning.
She draws major inspiration from Nature.The earthy colour palette,the natural textures,the fluidity,the restraint & the unabashed beauty.
She comes from a strong academic background. After working with different design firms and having successfully worked on various residential & office spaces,She founded UCHISOTO,Interior Design Studio as a befitting answer to her eternal love for interior designing & styling.
